Fish and Chips

I took Audrey to see the recording of the Hairy Bikers’ new series at the BBC today in Shepherds Bush, except the tickets said 4.15 and when we got there on time, the BBC said that they’d opened the doors at 2.30 and we should have been informed of the change. Well they didn’t send me an email about it, so they’ll be getting a rebuke! I don’t suppose it’ll make much difference, but it will make me feel better. I felt more sorry for the other people who’d come from further afield.

Having cycled from Kentish Town to Shepherds Bush, we decide to go back to Audrey’s flat for a conciliatory bottle of Bordeaux. Audrey lives near a very good fish and chip shop, Pang’s Garden, so one thing led to another…

Pang’s do particularly good cod in batter, they’ll always cook it fresh for you and the fish is firm with big flakes. The batter’s niece and crispy too, with a hint of oriental seasoning (I can’t put my finger on what exactly, but it’s good). I had some cod’s roe with mine.

Pang’s Garden is at 133 Kentish Town Road, NW1 8PB.
