I had dinner with Niko and Kiki this week – we all took it in turns to chop and stir things. Bacon was fried with chopped onions until it went crispy, before adding green beans, mushrooms and baby sweet corn. Kiki cooked a big pot of Basmati rice which got added slowly, along with some frozen peas.
Mandel’s chicken (in the back garden) are laying (even in February), so we scrambled some eggs which were stirred in with a bunch of chopped coriander.
The final ingredient was a panful of fried prawns.
It was simply delicious and enhanced by some fantastic Mad-Ass Chilli Sauce from the Farmers’ Market at Parliament Hill.
nice dish,nice looking sauce
Mad Ass will have to become a store cupboard essential – excellent combination
It’s a good one – quite hot and not too sweet.
mad ass… can’t wait for it to tickle my lips…
You’ll love it 😉
Ok, another item on the shopping list…Mad Ass chili sauce! I love fried rice and this is a very superior version….
Thanks – I really liked that sauce, some of the Thai ones are far too sweet for me.
This fried rice sounds delicious! Unfortunately, I doubt if any of the Mad Ass sauces are available here so I’ll have to get inventive. This fried rice is too good to pass up for want of a little chili sauce.
Thanks John. I know there are lots of other good chilli sauces out there, especially in America, though it sounds like you might make your own 😉
Agreed.. Must find a substitute for this M.A. sauce!
I am sure we can ship to you… we are only small, but aim to please!
great to see some fantastic response to our sauces 🙂
This looks absolutely delicious! 😀
Thanks fati – it might be good in one of your tortillas 😉
I love fried rice. Such a great meal. And so much better for being home made.
This one was a really good one 😉
This is so creative!
Thanks, that’s very kind of you to say so 😉
